Right outside the door
Cross the street and turn right and you're in the neighbourhood's everything-corner — a couple of minutes' walk covers most of what you'll need day-to-day.
Authentic Thai lunch.
First restaurant on the right after you cross. Premade meals on display (50 baht-ish at time of writing). Spicy by default — ask for "not spicy" and they'll dial it down. Soft drinks only.
7-Eleven.
Snacks, supplies, laundry drop-off, SIM cards.
Motorbike rental
right next to 7-Eleven.
Pharmacy + massage place
a little further down the same row.
Morning market
— 10-minute walk across the road. Worth it for the produce alone.
Restaurants worth the walk
Within a 10–15 minute walk, in roughly the order you'll spot them:
Shabu restaurant (corner)
Order from the menu or pick items from a fridge and cook them at your table. Different night out from the usual.
Western + Thai (next to Shabu)
Both menus, both done well. Safe choice when half the group wants pad thai and the other half wants a burger.
Thai BBQ
Worth trying once for the experience — grill your own at the table, communal vibe.
Drunken Burgers (booth, across the street)
Late-night burger booth. Better than it has any right to be.
KIN HKT Cafe
Coffee + the croissant-waffle hybrid. Order it, thank us later.
La Casina Rossa Kathu (10 min left from the intersection)
Genuinely good Italian. Worth the walk if you've been doing Thai food back-to-back.
Stake Tonight (16 min walk, on a lake)
Western + Thai, excellent prices, on a lake — the kind of place you'd never find unless someone tipped you off.
Local attractions
Phuket Museum souvenir shop
— 2 min walk. Cross at the intersection. Larger than it looks.
Elephant sanctuary
— 3 min walk, same side of the road.
Tiger Kingdom + go-kart racetrack
— 25 min walk (or 5 min by Bolt).
Supermarkets
All of these deliver — install the app once and never queue.
- Villa Market
- Upmarket. Best source for international produce. Delivers.
- Lotus (15 min walk)
- Your everyday supermarket. Install the app — free delivery on most orders. Great for water, chicken, rice, basic ingredients.
- Tops
- There's one in Central. Also delivers.
Massage
Winidda Massage & Spa — Winidda Massage & Spa — 10 min walk. Turn right at the intersection, keep going. 16/190-2 Phuket Villa3 Moo4 Praphuket Kaew Rd., Kathu.
Skip the street-touts in Patong — most are upsell traps. Around the condo you're paying neighbourhood prices for a neighbourhood massage, which is what you actually want.
Transport + apps
Bolt is the cheapest taxi app — works like Uber, uses your phone's GPS to find you. Grab is the same idea, a bit pricier, but also does food delivery. Food Panda is the other food-delivery option.
All three accept foreign cards. If you'd rather pay cash, have the exact amount ready.
Airport ↔ condo
- Phuket Smart Bus to Phuket Town: 100 baht. Then taxi from town to the condo: ~400 baht.
- Bolt / Grab direct from airport: 700–800 baht. Card payment works.
- Klook Klook shared-minibus transfer is another option.
Apps to install before you arrive

- Foreign cards work; cash also accepted (have exact amount).
- Airport ↔ condo runs ~600–800 ฿.
- Pin your pickup spot precisely — drivers don't call.
Taxis + food delivery in one app.
- A bit pricier than Bolt for rides, but more drivers available.
- GrabFood has the major chains + a wide local selection.
- Tip in-app or in cash; both are normal here.
Wider restaurant coverage than Grab Food.
- Often shows local spots that Grab doesn't list.
- Pandapro subscription pays for itself in ~3 orders.
- Delivery fees climb after 9 pm — order earlier if you can.

Going to Patong Beach
Morning + afternoon: easy. Plenty of taxis, cheap. Evening (7pm onwards): harder. Once the Bangla Road crowd starts moving, drivers know they have the upper hand and either take their pick of riders or quote inflated fares.
Patong tip: because of the one-way system, asking the driver for "Bangla Road" and walking to the beach gets you there quicker than asking for the beach directly. Worth doing the full route once on your first trip just to see where everything is.
Bangla Road itself: cheap beers and cocktails before the go-go bars open. If you end up playing Connect Four or the dice game with one of the staff, expect to buy them a drink. Good for international sports on the screens — football, rugby, cricket. American sports are harder to find.
Massage in Patong
Breeze Spa at Amari Phuket — top-of-range, especially for couples, fantastic view. Amari also does English afternoon tea in a tree house (yes, you climb a ladder; yes, it's worth it).
