Local food + shops

 

1min walk. For an authentic lunch try the first restaurant when you cross the street and turn right. They have several premade meals on display, 50 baht at the time of writing. They can be spicy. Otherwise order from the menu and you can ask for less spicy. They only serve soft drinks.

1min walk. Turn right and 7-11 has many options for quick snacks and supplies. They will also do laundry for you and can purchase a sim card for your phone.

Note: if you want to buy alcohol only after 11 am and not between 2 pm-5 pm.

Next to the 7-11, you can hire a motorbike. A bit further down is a pharmacy and massage place.

If you cross the road and walk for about 10min you will find the local morning market.

There is a traditional Thai breakfast place at the intersection you get to when you turn right. Like Dim Sum you pick what you want from the fridge, and then drop them off at the counter with your table number, and then they cook them for you. They have other options as well.

 

Next to this restaurant is one that offers Western food as well as Thai food. Next to this one is a Thai BBQ restaurant. You should try it at least once, quite a unique experience. Across the street is a booth that offers burgers, “Drunken Burgers”.

Also, there are coffee shops on the same side as the condo. Try the waffle made from a croissant at KIN HKT Cafe. Quite delicious. 

If you turn left from D Condo Reef, about a 10-minute walk there is a great Italian restaurant “La Casina Rossa Kathu”.

15min walk. Turn right at the intersection, there is a Lotus supermarket.

16min walk. The road before on the same side at the end is a great restaurant that offers both Western and Thai food “Stake Tonight”. Set on a lake. They have excellent prices.

 

Local Attractions

 

2min Walk. When you are right at the intersection (same as above). Cross over. There is a large souvenir shop “Phuket Museum”.

3min walk. On the same side of the road. There is an elephant sanctuary.

15min walk. On the other side of the road is the Lotus supermarket, go down the road.

25min walk will get you to the Tiger Kingdom and the go-kart racetrack.

Transport + Ordering Food Online

 

The cheapest taxi service is generally using Bolt. Works like Uber, it uses your GPS location to help the taxi driver find you. Grab works the same way, slightly more expensive.

Grab is great for also ordering food. Food Panda is another service.

These are all apps you need to install on your phone. They do accept foreign cards. If you want to pay in cash, you need to have the right amount.

Note: Times are all approximate, If you look at Google Maps you should be able to find the places and judge for yourself. If you use a taxi service like Bolt, very nearby. Reach out to us if you need additional help.

Getting to\from the airport there is also the Phuket smart Bus which will take you to Phuket Town for 100 baht. You then will need to take a taxi to the condo (about 400 baht). Bolt or Grab will be 700-800 baht. With Bolt or Grab you can set up to pay with a card. For buses, it is better to have the exact amount.

Going to Patong Beach

 

If you are going by taxi, the morning and afternoon will be cheaper, also plenty of taxis available. When people start going to Bangla Road around 7-8 pm, it can be hard to get a taxi or only more expensive options. Also, Bangla Road is a great place to get cheap beers and cocktails before the Go-go Bars open. If you do play Connect Four or the dice game with one of the staff, expect to buy them a drink. Also great to catch international sports like Football, Rugby and Cricket. American sports like Baseball and American Football are much harder to find.

When going to Patong Beach, because of the one-way system. Going there, picking Bangla Road as the destination, and walking to the beach will get you there quicker. Although it is good to do the full route once to see where everything is.

Massages

If you go for a massage in Patong, most will have ladies standing in the street offering cheap prices but try and upsell you if you are a guy with a happy ending or sex. Around the condo is better for authentic Thai massages.

Five Star Massage is one place in Patong where you will get a normal massage. They also have an interesting massage to remove ear wax.

 

Breeze Spa at Amari Phuket

 

For a top-of-the-range massage, especially for couples, and has a fantastic view.

Amari also has a traditional English Afternoon tea in a tree house. You do need to climb up a ladder. Great view and a selfie spot. Also, delicious.
